Behind Those Eyes

(Poem Written by Me)

All’s a tale in the trails of butterflies
Seeping out from underneath my eyes
Revealed in the lightning of black storm clouds
Crashing and thundering with imperceptible sounds

Then my mind takes a violent turn
Former possibilities crash and brightly burn
But all these other doors, they widely open
None of them suit me, so I run to the window, glass broken

I long to tell you how I really, truly feel
So you may see me, my dreams becoming real
But my minds detains my courage, I am unable to do this
Now I’ll forever wonder what I have come to miss

I can feel my heart beat upon the bars of its cage
My neglect just feeding it’s building rage
I see you walking there, your amazing smile
You hold me, caught like a bird all the while

Behind my eyes lies a world unseen
Beneath the tears, the cheerful gleam
A raging battle, the darkness and the light
My heart and my mind, they always fight

To be or not to be?
To love, or to be free?
To think, or to be alone?
Or to love and to have never known?




This took me three weeks to finally complete. It was well worth it and I am extremely proud.
